Little Acorns and Milton

by Robert S. Acorn

I wrote this book in hopes of preserving some experiences in the lives of Milton Acorn and his relatives. Liberty has been taken with some dates although the happenings are factual.
I have included only that fit loosely into the framework of a short story. Much of the dialogue comes from the actual words spoken. Most of the stories are told through the vehicle of some kind of walk or trip, where each place passed through makes its own recollections.

Five chapters contain references to Milton himself while he was living on, or visiting, Prince Edward Island. The collection also includes a group of chapters on Milton's relatives. A third group of based on my own experiences, and is intended to entertain as well as reveal the setting on The Island in Milton's time.

I am indebted to the several serious authors who have produced biographical works on Milton, which have dealt at length with his artistry, politics, and and craft.

These pages, in contrast, are intended to portray a more personal picture of Milton and our family.
