SHAKEN
BY PHYSICS by John MacKenzie
This is a bold,
beautiful, meditative second book from one of our most daring and brilliant
young poets. John MacKenzie shows us one person's struggle to understand
and apply concepts from classical and quantum physics to his sensations,
thoughts and emotions. MacKenzie's earthy storytelling ability, startling
images and trademark wry humour are as apparent here as they were in his
award-nominated, much praised first book, SLEDGEHAMMER. Here is gorgeous,
playful and powerful poetry that has the unsettling effect of shaking our
belief in both science and words.
